“But I hate the cold”

I grew up in Florida and I love the warmth. I’ve never liked winter because I didn’t like being cold. So I’m the last person in the world who you’d think would be into intentional cold exposure. I first got intrigued by the thought of cold plunges when a friend of mine started doing it. At first I was like “there’s no way I’d ever get into that. It’s crazy!” It’s the same way I felt when I saw those people doing the Polar Bear plunges every new year’s. I thought they were nuts and couldn’t imagine doing that. Well fast forward to today and I can honestly say that besides breathing/breathwork, there’s nothing I’ve experienced as profound as intentional cold exposure. Getting mentaly and physically prepared for and then doing an cold/ice bath is amazing! It is extremely empowering and amazing for one’s health in so many ways! It decreases inflammation (inflammation causes or contributes to a host of diseases/conditions) and helps you recover faster, it strengthens and improves your immune system, so much more.

I can teach you to embrace the cold and the power that it holds. We will do this through a systematic process involving mindset, breathing, and gradual cold exposure until you feel confident and powerful. Through this training and practice I went from fearing the cold to tolerating the cold to acceptance and embracing the cold to loving the cold experience. I moved from “getting through the experience to prove (to myself) I could do it, to surrendering to the experience and transforming it into a truly meditative experience (getting my heart rate down to low 50’s and even high 40’s while in the middle of the ice bath experience). It is amazingly empowering (if you can get into freezing cold water and come out feeling amazing, what else can you do? What barriers can you push though and conquer?)!
